This is the most critical release milestone for Onboarding customers: Onboarding 1.0 reaches full deprecation with the 1H 2026 release. Any customer still running Onboarding 1.0 must migrate to Onboarding 2.0 immediately.
Onboarding 1.0 reaches its full end-of-maintenance milestone with this release. Customers still using the legacy onboarding platform must migrate to Onboarding 2.0 as soon as possible.
If your organization is still on Onboarding 1.0, this release should be treated as a go-live deadline for migration, not a future planning item.
Users assigned as buddies to a new hire now see a dedicated Onboarding home page card at the top of their latest home page, improving visibility and buddy engagement. Requires latest home page to be enabled.
Users with access to the legacy Offboarding Dashboard are automatically assigned the required role-based permissions to migrate to and use the enhanced Offboarding Dashboard.
SAP now allows users to restart only the e-signature step in document flows after new-hire data changes, avoiding the need to restart the entire onboarding flow.
When a candidate is hired in SmartRecruiters and Onboarding is enabled, the onboarding process starts automatically and appears in the Onboarding Dashboard.
When the Country/Region-Specific Dependent Relationship Information setting is enabled in People Profile, the Dependents section is removed from the Onboarding application entirely. New hires and managers cannot add or edit dependent data during onboarding tasks.
Once enabled, dependent data in the Onboarding process is ignored during the hire process and automatically aligns with the Country/Region-Specific information in Employee Central.
